| Palm Springs? Never been, but Google Maps shows nothing but golf courses. Since you are in Charlotte, Myrtle Beach is a quick run, but I live in the area and can play anytime (okay for 3 weeks a year it's too cold for me, but other than that...)
Jacksonville, Fl? Hilton Head? If the trip is coming up soon, I'd avoid Orlando since they are digging out of the storm damage.
