| At our club Cat1 is + to 5, Cat2 6 to 12, Cat3 13-20, Cat4 20+ (for handicaps).
Our comps have a Group 1 winner and a Group 2 winner. Group 1 is made up of Cat1 & 2 players Group 2 is made up of Cat3 & 4 Players. This is mainly because the real bandits (new members) are Cat3 & 4 players, who shoot very low scores meaning a single handicapper would have to shatter the course record to win a comp. For example if a 28 handicapper played to 18 that means a scratch player would have to shoot a course record 61 to tie and then would probably loose on a card playoff, lol.
