| I think it's finally coming together After a couple of lessons from a pro, learning new drills from a low handicap player, practicing at course and range, and getting reunited with my old set of irons, I think I finally found my swing. At the range today, I was striking my irons well with my usual hard fast tempo swing. I concentrated more on contact since the clubheads are significantly smaller. My driver was still slicing. I got so ****y with my irons, I decided to work on my 75 yard and under sand wedge shots. I started to slow down my tempo thinking my ball would go my targeted shorter distances but they kept going the distance of my full strength shots. So I tried the same tempo with a pitching wedge, 9, 7, and 5 irons. Low and behold, I was going the distance accurately and my body was reacting insync with all the drills that I've been working on. I felt so balanced. It's a no brainer that getting your timing down is easier at slower speeds, but I always just wanted to kill the ball. So the final test, the driver. With the same slow, 60 yard sand wedge tempo, I was hitting my driver with good distance but my slice cut down tremendously. I think it finally came together. I feel pretty positive right now. I haven't taken this to the course yet so I really shouldn't be talking about this. If I can keep "60 yard sand wedge tempo" in my mental checklist, I think I'll be fine.
