I think good putting all comes down to a consistent stroke and confidence. Way too many golfers look to equipment to provide a "magic bullet". For years I putted with a cheap, light Northwestern putter and was lights out. Then one day it just didn't look right to me and the putting went downhill. I won a Slotline Inertial putter in a tournament and used that for about 15 years until this year.

There's something to be said for consistently two putting. In my last four rounds my putts have been in the low 30's, almost all two putts, the occasional one putt and no three putts. I'll take that all year long.

I played on Friday with a couple guys like that. They out drove me on virtually every hole. I was hitting the ball straight off the tee though, even if it was only 250ish but I was always in play. I didn't three putt a green and shot 80 on a course with some really tiny, slick and rolling greens.
They gave my putter a new nickname too "the stick of death"
As much as I like bangin' the ball off the tee, golf is still about scoring. If you keep the ball in play and have a good short game I think you can shoot some very good rounds almost anywhere.
