Thanks for the advice, WBL. That's exactly what I was hoping to hear, re: the shaft flex.
I am astonished at how what I'm feeling in my swing is NOT what I'm actually doing. He tells me to swing really short. It feels like I'm swinging back to 9 o'clock. I immediately watch the video replay, and it's like some completely different swing, the club going past parallel and my left arm going into a big bend.
"Shorter!", he says. So I try again. This time it feels like a chip shot backswing. And I'm STILL overswinging. The video doesn't lie, but my brain damn sure does!
Having instant replay high-speed camera footage available is pretty awesome.
Once I learn to coil properly and release properly, I think I'll have a decent swing. I'm pretty optimistic.
