| I think it's all a matter of personal "feel". I bought a Cameron Futura Phantom and couldn't control the distance at all. Just a horrible putter for me. My current putter, a Cameron Futura Mallet, is pretty automatic as far as distance goes. Different putter altogether.
Spend some time testing putters at the local retailer. Work on a ladder drill and concentrate on distance control. You'l' find what works best for you.
