| We've got Charter in our area too....I switched to DirecTV five years ago ONLY because Charter was too unreliable. I've never looked back.
My rooftop satellite dish has been through some hellish storms (the remnants of Katrina brought 65 MPH gusts) and the little bugger keeps chugging along. I wouldn't trade it for anything.
To Charter's credit though, they have gotten better at servicing in our area. I use their cable modem service and get almost 5 MB speed and it has been very, very reliable lately....
TRY out DISH or DirecTV's basic package. It will run you about $30 a month. I think you will be pleased with it and it will cost nothing up front for them to install the equipment. (It's like getting a cell phone....with a two year commitment, they will set up your equipment for zilch). If you need the name of a good supplier, I will provide one for you in Massachusetts that is great to do business with.... |
