Do you guys subtract your hadicap from your actual score, when you post these numbers?
I would hate to shock anyone, with my 131 for today.
In my defense however, today was the first game that I have not played from the ladies T.
I was in the 110's from there, but have now fallen back.
If I had any sense, I'd quit this game right now.
I think I'm hooked. |
Not sure. I post my real number. It's great to tee it up from the white tees for the first time - it's part of macho golf, finally teeing it up....ahem, where you belong. (I taught one of my buddies the game, too - I made him tee it up from the white tees regardless, because I refused to drive up the ladies tee and watch a grown man tee off from there. I wouldn't be caught dead with that.)
And, yes, if you have any sense, quit while you still can.
I shot a 42 today on 9 holes, with a nice bag fat 7 to end my day. Driving's still bad - 1 fairway. Iron play's good, though, because I still got 5 greens, as well as an up and down from 160 yards to save par. Putting's getting there, with 15 putts.
Number 9 was a disaster, as usual. I usually hit 3 iron to the dog leg left instead of cutting the corner...but I was thinking birdie all the way to break 40. Mistake...drive not only cuts the corner but lands in the trees on the far side in a really bad downhill lie. Second shot, topper. Third, pushed into a tree, came back at me. Fourth shot, topper. Fifth onto the fringe, and then two-putted. Ugh.
It's the same hole where I put a ball into a guy's bag yesterday from 135 yards.
