Actually, you will see very few flame wars around here, as most people on here are on a more "friends" basis and keep it on a mature level. Which was my main reason for coming over from GR over a year ago.
Not to say that there are disagreements and overzealous debate at times. Just that the very, very, large majority if not all back up what they say with logic and reasoning on more of a mature level.
I believe most on here learned a long time ago that once you have to resort to name calling and profanity as the main portion of supporting your opinion, it is usually a sign that you have run out of other ways to support your information yet are unwilling to change your mind for the sole sake of wanting to be right. Which in the case of the character of most of the people on here, it is usually realized it is either time to step back and re-evaluate, or is many times the case show a willingness to realize it is O.K. to change your opinion in light of sound logic. Or as the quote goes: "Tis better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt"
As you obviously saw in your old forum and as was the case at GR, it was more a matter of profanity and name calling becoming the major means of conversation simply because most of the people that understood the difference got tired of it and left, making a good part of the existing majority having nothing real creative to say or feeling as though they were speaking with themselves.
