I am talking stories like this from some kid on a BMW forum: When I was about 12 a lady riding her bike down the busiest street in our neighborhood crashed her bike on one of the sewer inlet grates. Cracked her head open pretty good, an ambulance came, a couple police cars, and maybe 20 passers-by had gathered around. The emergency vehicles were kind of scattered all over and the crowd was all on the sidewalk.
All of a sudden a car came crashing into the crowd! Somehow this drunk old guy managed to weave his car in between the ambulance and a police car and plow right into the crowd of people standing on the sidewalk. Bodies went flying everywhere like bowling pins, the right front fender of the car hit my left wrist as the car went past me from behind.
After the car came to rest one of the neighborhood kids was pinned underneath the car on top of some concrete steps. She got dragged a little ways and there were chunks of meat and hair stuck to the sidewalk. I was in shock but uninjured and just kind of pedaled my bike home and told my mom what happened and I think she just about passed out.
