My buddy and I were fishing on the Old River, which is part of the Wacassassa River, in the Green Swamp WMA in West Central Florida. The river was about 50 feet wide, and as we motored slowly along we passed about twenty dinosaurs in about a half-mile stretch.

I say dinosaurs because these things were HUMUNGOUS.

I've lived in Florida long enough to see some pretty big Gators- 10 ft., 13 ft., etc. But nothing like this. Every single one of these were longer than the boat, some looked to be almost 20 feet long. I think they were Salt Water Crocodiles, which are rare, but not unknown in Florida. I didn't think they were found that far north, but I can't come up with any other explanation.

Each of us had shotguns and handguns with us, and we were hopelessly undergunned.

I soiled myself when a couple of them got frisky and slammed into the water as we passed.
