| Here is yet another tip that has worked that you might try. For wood shots, address the ball with the toe of the club behind the center of the ball, rather than the middle of the club. Next, imagine yourself looking down on the ball. The target line comes through the ball at three and nine o'clock. A line perpendicular to the target line, comes through the ball at twelve and six o'clock. When you attack the ball, try making contact at the center of the back, bottom quadrant (half-way between three and six o'clock). One has to come from the inside to make contact there.
If you end up pushing the ball, you need to allow the toe of the club to pass the heel. If you come too far from the inside so that you have to flip your wrists over quickly to have a chance to square the clubface, you might try taking the club back straighter and longer from the ball as you begin the back-swing.
Just aiming at that point between three and six o'clock has changed several slicers I have known into players with the nicest little draw.
Good luck. CP |
