| I don't really recall Hogan specifying where he felt the clubface should be when parallel to the ground at the hips, I remember a great deal of where he felt it should be at the top.
I do recall him mentioning in detail that he more fought his hook by changing his grip, and specifically bring the thumb up the shaft to even with the forefinger or using a short thumb. I believe that was what he felt saved him in controlling his hook and likely his career.
I believe your initial comments where in relation to the face being closed at parallel is "classic one planerism", so because he did not mention otherwise (that I remember) wouldn't it be safe to assume he likely had the clubface slightly closed. Further, if that were the case it would seem based on Hogan, Nicklaus, and Nelson would all likely agree that is the correct position. If not then it would likely dispute that a closed face at parallel is a "classic one planerism", but something otherwise shared by the majority.
