Naw fair play to him, I think he's coached by a guy from Teh Matsers home course - by the looks of him he's exceeding all expectations, which were fairly high to start with. He looks like being the greatest golf talent produced here since Ronan Rafferty. |
You're right Dave. He has played in all these Tour events and as such has probably cost him his place in the Walker Cup. He missed several key amateur events and word is, despite how much success he has had, the tour attraction may limit how much we see of him as an amateur.
The interesting question is does this dude need to go through college and excel in the amateur ranks in order to suceed as a pro, or can he dive in at 16 or 17 as a pro and still make it.
Apparently Chubby Chandler (who manages McDowell, Clarke, Westwood etc.) has already thrown his hat into the ring to manage him.
