| The thing with Simon is that he had just come back from a 25 game suspension for trying to decapitate someone. Less than 10 games later he stomps on someones leg. This is someone who just doesn't get it, and clearly showed no respect for anything with the time line of his infractions. At least have the decency to wait a full season before kicking someone.
Yes Pronger plays hard, can be dirty, and at many times allows his emotions to get the better of him. He is also 1 of, if not the best defensemen in the NHL. This doesn't necessarily give him a free pass, but it does point out that his main reason for being on the ice is his playing ability. With Simon the same cannot be said.
