| DiMarco had a back injury that he tried to play through without much success. It would seem that his swing depends on timing more than a "standard" swing and as a result it would take some time to get it back. Playing injured could do damage that might not be fixable quickly.
I have always thought DiMarco was overrated anyway. His passion and intensity are great, but he has only won three times, never won a significant event and has not won since 2002.
This might just be typical career deterioration for a near 40 year old.
