| I would keep trying the telephone registration when it starts. (you don't have to wait for the operator to finish saying the choices, you can press buttons, no waiting, I keep calling and punch numbers like a madman).
For a single, shouldn't be too bad to just go and see what opens up. Guranteed there will be guys there that don't show up 1 hour before their tee time and they lose it (very strict policy, the computer automatically releases the tee time in you aren't checked into 1 hour before).
Goof luck and have fun.
Almost forgot, not sure if you walk or ride, but carts aren't allowed on Black.
I've heard horror stories when it comes to Black. I am a 20 handicap, if I played black, I think I would break every club in my bag and give up the game. True, it would be an experience but not worth it for me at this stage. I plan on getting better first.
Right now, the fescue probably hasn't grown in to full length yet. But once July / August hits, forget it, you hit your ball into fescue, don't even bother searching, lol.
I played Green for the first time a couple weeks ago, great course course. I usually play Blue (fairly long course, about 6100 - 7300 yards) and Yellow (easiest course).
