The GF finally hit a golf ball into the air last evening.
Actually several balls, out of the 30 or so she hit.
They actually flew into the air, instead of killing worms! Her comment: "Wow!"
It's only been a
year since I foolishly started trying to teach her how to hit a golf ball.
In that year, she has made it to the range approximately 12 times. Sometimes it's too cold. Or too hot. Or the bugs are biting. Or it might rain. Or it's girls night out (I'm not even asking).
But last evening she finally hit a few balls decent, with her PW, her 8 iron, and her 6 iron. I
was going to go crazy and have her hit a few with her 7 wood, but fortunately I came to my senses in time.
What seemed to help most of all, even more than me beating her senseless with a 5 iron, was the Tour Tempo timer. Before trying that, she was making a spastic, unrythmic chop at the ball, despite all of my coaching. After a few minutes of wearing the Tour Tempo timer, her swing had progressed from making grown men cry to merely making them ask for another beer or 6.
