Well, Droghba hasn't much to be proud of. You simply don't slap an opponent. Not when you know that the ref has made it clear all match that he will use the card. Droghba threw away his chance at a point kick, and who knows, maybe that would have been the difference.
Looking back, I thought the match was decent. Ronaldo was fanatastic, although the Chelsea defense seemed in disarray at times. Both goals came from well-developed plays (although Chelsea's goal benefited from a pretty serious breakdown.) Overall, this match looked more like a World Cup game than a Premier League one. By that I mean the cheap fouls, dives and general mean-spritied nature of some of the players reminded me of how the biggest matches seem to bring out the worst in players. Hope I don't offend anyone here, but WTF is it with Portuguese and Argentinian players? Do they have to be complete dicks? When Rooney is the peacemaker in a match, something is definitely off-kilter.
