Nothing to do with equipment. It's the swing. This is where an more arms controlled, timing based, sometimes "hand save" based swing shows it's true colors. When you try to slow down, you throw your timing off and the clubface will be pointing all over the place. Don't get discouraged, I do it, pros do it. Did you happen to see the Swingvision with Phil Mickelson a few weeks ago? 2nd best player on the planet and he has a massive hand save, to the point he's got about 1 1/2 fingers of one hand on the club at impact. VJ does the same type thing. He might as well be swinging one handed on the downswing with a driver.

Now back to equipment. Get a nice TEE 3W with a great shaft if you want a control shot. Rip the driver when and where you can.
