On a tee, where I can "let her rip", ha-ha, I can hit the 3 wood longer. That's the only reason it's still in the bag. |
Without the aid of a tee, which will increase effective loft you simply dont have sufficient swing speed to hit a club with loft as low as 15* optimally. This is the same reason many people hit their 3 wood as far or farther than their driver. Its all about optimal launch conditions.
