I do it, too, as pointed out to me in my swing video thread. Like the previous poster, I hits slices, as least with my woods. It seems like it would help you open up your hips, but I think it does the opposite. It's actually harder to turn your hips with your feet splayed, versus parallel. I'm not sure it's a root cause that needs to be fixed, but it probably isn't good, either.
