| Driven at full throttle, hybrids are not using the battery exclusively so the gas engine is on just like a normal car. Hybrids make their MPG gains during normal driving conditions, particularly city type driving where thre are frequent stops and starts. Unless you are driving non stop full throttle constantly, the Prius will get you better MPG that the M3.
