I fish for bass, walleye and pike, but mostly bass.

Your best bet would be a mid range casting reel like the Quantum Accurist 500PT (new version) or the Shimano Citica D-Series. Both of these can be found for $79 and $99, respectively at most online stores, like cabelas and BPS. I own two Citicas (100DSV and 200DPV) and one Accurist 500PT. Lots of people swear by shimanos, but I find that quantum is the best bang for the buck. And while my two citicas are great for thier intended application, I feel that my accurist can cover it all. I dont really know what you are going to use it for, but as long as your going to use 10-12lb test line, and lure weights over 1/4 an ounce. youll be fine. Also, what kind of rod are you using (length, action, power).

you can check out TackleTour.com ~ The Angler's Source for Tackle Reviews and Tackle News! for great reviews, and their forum which you will for sure find an answer.
