Perry hasn't shown that he has that. And while he has unquestionably played well, he hasn't done so on the biggest stages. I would question how he is going to hold up under the pressure of the Ryder Cup. I'm not sure I would want to be paired with him in the alternate ball round if I were on the team. |
It's all part of a long-term plan to get the ROTW to underestimate his resolve. Anyone who plays him will go out aggressively (thinking that he can stand the pressure) and Perry will calmly match them shot for shot. Then he'll tune his bionic eyes and pour on the pressure.
Besides, I'd rather have Kenny Perry as my partner than Tiger, who sucks in team competition.
