WTB: Cheap Lob Wedge (cheap p&p)

I'm improving at golf, and getting a new set of irons. As well as the irons, I would like to get a new wedge. I'm getting a PW, AW (52*), and have a SW (55*), so I would like a lob wedge. I'm on a very tight budget, so I thought i'd check with you guys. I've got £20, I think that's $35, and that would have to include p&p. Whether it's a complete wedge (mostly aimed at british guys) or a head which I could later get shafted, I'm not really bothered, but please tell me what you've got? Especially some of you club ho's...

Thanks
Scotty

I bought a Knight lob wedge at walmart like 3 years ago to see if I could hit it. I liked it so much I kept it in my bag. It looks funny sitting among all my Pings..but I always feel confident with it in my hands. Try walmart or Target for a cheap one.

I would if I could... I'm in Scotland, and we don't have any big brand supermarkets which sell golf stuff like that. It might harm the shipping a bit as well...

Scotty, to be quite honest, I would recommend that you save a few more spondoolicks and buy a better sandwedge.

I have an MD Superstrong Players 60* gun metal lob wedge available to sell. It is in fab condition as I leave it out of my bag. They are £49-99 in my Pro-Shop, and as I say it is in excellent condition.

This particular wedge has got rave reviews in various independant testings, with Today's Golfer saying "you cannot buy a better wedge for your money" ; "this wedge looks, sits and plays like a much more expensive wedge", etc.

A young guy in the golf club is interested in buying this off me for 25 quid - half the retail price of it, and it is in marvellous nick.
However, he is wanting to buy my sandwedge off me first & foremost, so I could sell you this for 30 quid inc. postage, as it will cost me around the fiver mark (or more!) to ship it to Scotland. Failing that, we might have a very cheap lob wedge or two in our shop - I will check that, too.

Let me know what you think.

I would have to agree with that. £20 incl. P&P doesn't go too far.

If you are absolutely stuck with £20 try the 2nd hand bins in your nearest pro shops, or you could always try Argos, TK Maxx, CostCo but I would say the quality is probably muck.

MD Golf makes great quality clubs.

Thanks for the PM, btw, Mark. I shall reply at some point soon. My problem was nowt to do with the golf - I am much more relaxed on the course now, and realise it ain't the end of the world if things don't quite go my way on the fairways.

Yeah, the MD is a quality wedge. I wouldn't hesitate to use it, but prefer to use a slightly stronger wedge instead.

The MD actually produced higher spin rates than all the top competitor's wedges in an independant testing. Check out this month's (JUne edition) Today's Golfer for more info.

£30 inc. P&P, you say?!?!?!?! I might be able to stretch to that... If you could check how much P&P would be, and get back to me on a total cost, it would be great! I've checked it out and it looks like a great wedge...

It really is a superb wedge - it is just that I have no room for it in my bag It spins like a good 'un, and sits so damn nice, too !!

It'll cost me at *least* £4-50 mate, no lie. They are heavy objects, and so it will cost me easily that, trust me....
