Nike SasQuatch 460 Tour driver.

Nike SasQuatch Tour 460 9.5º.

As some of you may remember I wasn’t impressed with this driver when I first got it. I felt it was lacking in distance and I was hitting it straight left. After a few range sessions I fell in LOVE with this driver. It just took me a few hundred balls to get use to the square faced tour model driver, coming from a closed face TM r5 dual “D”.

The look of this driver, to me, is the best out there right now. Yes I know this is last years driver but it’s the one I thought looked best out of all the drivers produced in the last 2 years. I like the look at address, even though you don’t notice the power bow I like it. It makes the club stand out from others if you were to look at several from address. I like the sole graphics as well, once again nice and distinctive. If you see this driver from 50 yards away, you know what it is. Also has a nice sound, unlike the callaway Ft-3. Has a nice feel off the club face too.

This driver flat out performs for me. I have much more confidence than I did before when I was swinging the r5. I can swing hard at this driver and unless I was to quick from the top, she’s not going right.(I’m a lefty) I also have more confidence at address, im not thinking about 247 things I have to do so I don’t hook it like I had to do with the r5. I just stand there. Get the correct distance from the ball, check ball position, and do a one piece take away. This is a very consistent driver. I’m hitting it quite a bit longer than I was with the r5 last year. I’m also finding a TON more fairways. I have complete confidence when I take this club out of the bag. The head feels a little heavier than the r5 and that would be the only thing I would still be getting use to, aside from more distance and fairways. A nice smooth swing with this driver results in a 260 yard driver down the middle. And I will take that any day in April. If I swing harder if obviously goes further but I might not be in the fairway, which is a must at my course.

So overall I am EXTREAMY impressed with this driver in every category. If you are looking for a new driver and those 400 r7’s aren’t for you, try a SQ Tour. This driver is nuts and is going to be in my bag for a while. I took some leg work for me to get mine and I would do it again in a heart beat if something happened to mine.

Try this driver! If you haven’t already which most of you ho’s probably did last year when it wondered out of the woods to the public.

I moved from an R5 Dual D to a Sasquatch (albeit the non-Tour version) and can echo every single point you make here! I had ALL the same problems with my R5, coupled with a ridiculously high ball flight, and the SQ seems to have sorted all my issues out.

I hit my r5 high aswell. Although I did open the face to try to take some of the hookout of it. there's no opening the SQ Tour.

Great summary, TCG!

Oh wait, I DO HIT IT!

The only difference between our experiences (besides me being on the other side of the ball) is that it was everything as advertised from the very first swing!

One thing that really surprises me is how forgiving this driver is for being the "tour" model, gone are the days when I wonder how far right I'm going to miss the fairway.

And for the record, I actually kind of like the graphics as well...

i played today and got to hit a 8.5 with a pro launch shaft in it and man was it straight. i offered the guy my ft-3 but he wouldn`t go for it. NICE driver from what i used it today. i hit it way longer then my ft-3.

The SQ Tour is actually still a current model, they are not going to produce them as much as they did last year, but it is still considered to be a part of their '07 line. Kind of hard to take a club out of the line when Tiger still uses it (for now).

Ugh. I liked the review so much, I hopped on Global Golf and purchased a used one. I guess I'll have to take it for a test drive.

Good review.

TCG, I think two standard models is good enough to let him in the club! Go ahead and show him the handshake...
