Still amazes me they consider it a ladies golf ball. If I started playing and didn't know any better, they may be enough to make me give up golf.

Sib, I'll be glad to take those NXT's and DT's off your hands so you can buy some Tour Fires. I might even trade you a sleeve for all 5 dozen!!

A few years ago I picked up a sleeve of Slazenger's (Raw Distance I think) in the pro shop. Used 1 ball 1 hole...it was the hardest, most horrible ball I'd ever hit in my life INCLUDING Rockflite X outs. If I'd been blindfolded I would've sworn I was literally hitting a round rock. I immediately told my group that if no one took them by the time we found a lake, they were all going in the water. Somebody took them.

Sunday I found a Slazenger Money Ball and played it...it really wasn't a bad ball. Of course, my first shot with it was over a lake...

Since you live so close to my dream golf vacation spot, Pinehurst, I will make you a deal on them. I'll count them up and we can negotiate.

I really would like to get rid of everything except the Tour Fires, so I would be able to play just one brand of ball.

I tried a TP Red today. I missed a lot of greens so got to test it's spin. This ball spins off a wedge more than any ball I've ever used by far. I hit 2 58* wedges out of the rough from inside 20yds. that bit like nothing I've ever seen. Distancewise I was not overly impressed but it's long enough. It's got a ProV beat for spin IMO.

I watched Tiger put some nice shots right on the pin today and "spin" them 10 feet away from it.

It took me a while to really warm up to the TP Red, the first time I played it, it only lasted one hole before I went back to the B330S, the second time it made it a whole nine holes before I went back. After getting accustomed to the feel and spin of it, I really started to like it. The one thing that I have noticed is that every now and then, usually once every two rounds or so, I hit an iron shot that really jumps off the face, goes an extra five yards or so.

Yeah, I watched him hit a bunker shot about 15 ft. past the pin then it spun back to about 13 ft. in front of the pin! Out of the bunker! If my math skills still work that's 28 ft. of backspin on a bunker shot. Now that is some sick spin on a sand wedge.

Taylor Made's ball has to be close to the best ball out there. Amazing feel and length.

I tried a One Platinum yesterday as well. Very good ball. I am convinced that all these premium balls are virtually neck and neck.

Ez,

Notice any difference in distance off the tee with different premium balls?

A little. That One Platinum seemed longer than the TP Red. The Prov1's seem a tad shorter than a 1X. I really liked the One Platinum. It's such a toss up though, they all seem so close to each other. I'll continue to just play whatever I find from the premium ones.

On this note... I got the name and number of guy who is always out collecting balls at the course. He lives right down the road from me. I called him today and he said I could stop by tomorrow evening. We'll see what I can walk out with for a nice crispy $100 bill. I'm hoping to negotiate him down to 3 for a $1 on premium balls.

Rent? Food? Sorry,

Tell us what you pick up from him, and how good the balls are. Also if you sell any.
