The Boomerang

I finally got my boomerang today after 2 weeks of waiting. I opened it up and pulled the little manual off the putting surface, which left a big sticky tape spot. I spent 10 minutes cleaning that off before I had a putt on it. The first putt made it about 3/4 of the way up the ramp, and the second stopped just short of the lip. In all, I putted on it for about 45 minutes, and made a total of 5 balls stay in the cup. It's very addicting. I will give an update after I have used it a little more.

They've changed the design some from when I had mine. I can see why too.

It's very addicting, as you say. If you use that thing for 20 minutes a day, I will guarantee results.

Yes, but that is MY mat, NOT the boomerang mat.

I got mine 2 days ago also after a long wait. I ordered the mat as well. It isn't exactly smooth, I've had it rolled out on the floor for 2 days, and it's still bouncing the balls off it from not laying flat. Not sure what to do about that, but the Boomerang is nice, I can see how it will help my putting, if that's even possible,

I just got the Carnoustie mat in the mail, even though I only ordered the Boomerang! Sweet! Update on my boomerang skills: I have now gotten 1 ball in the cup, knocked it out with the next, gotten another in, and knocked it out. I'm having a lot of fun. Now to try out the Carnoustie mat.

The mat just gives you a line.
A 6 inch wide line.....any deviation and your ball misses the ramp (feedback).

It's more difficult than it first appears.

Here's some more pics. I have trouble putting the full length of the mat. My floor has an interesting break.

Ah. That's what I was thinking too. The concept is great, omitting the possibility of a non-level floor so you can work solely on your stroke... but guess'ut! Your wavy floor matter up until the last 24 inches, yah?

Given that, I'm not sure how this is any more effective than putting on carpet...

It's a nice idea, though.

The mat stimps much better than your carpet. To me, the mat is an integral part of the system as it allows to practice at true green speeds and forces you to hit the ball straight or you will miss the ramp.

Exactly, it is a LOT harder than I initially thought it would be. Trying to keep the ball on the mat I can see how a 3-4 foot putt will become almost automatic in time. So far I'm very pleased with it, I suck at it, but I'm happy with it,

It's a small investment, so maybe I'll give it a try anyway.
