REVIEWS FOR RENEGADE DRIVER

Hello, just wanted to see if any one has any more updates on how the renegade driver is doing for them? I was looking into getting one and wanted to know what everyone thought.

I have a 10* Renegade set up with a UST V2 LD-1 shaft. Will review it when the weather gives me a fair chance. Hitting a cold range ball from a heated bay out into snowbanks does not lead to a true evaluation. When the weather breaks here in Wisconsin I will post my thoughts.

I have been hitting balls in my garage into a net and it feels solid. For whatever that is worth.

Mine is getting shafted tonight, and I'll be taking it to the range tomorrow afternoon, then (assuming the range session goes OK) I'll play a round with it on Sunday.

I'll post my thoughts Sunday PM.

I hit it yesterday at the Milwaukee Golf Show (TourSwing and Indacup display) and the head feels solid. The TourSwing Vengeance shafts they had in them (no matter what flex) were alittle too "boardy"(?) for me. Not smooth like my Solutions shafts. And I swung like I was shoveling snow instead of swinging a club so it was a waste of time. ejdahl21 hit it well (118 mph ss!!)

Thumbs up Renegade Head and Shaft

I recently acquired one of the Renegade 10* heads with a BB Solutions 130 shaft from Rory at Indacupgolf and have been attempting to get acquainted with the mechanics of this clubhead. Let me just say, at first I could not hit anything aside from a power fade with any consistency although, this may have been due to my loose swing path associated from my FT-3 driver setup, which is very forgiving even on off center hits. However, once I managed to get comfortable with a different stance and gripping the club a little more shut than usual (and about 500 golf balls) I began to drive the ball with more consistency and more of a sweet spot impact. I have noticed a major improvement in my shot patterns and now when I put a good swing on it, I notice a loud crack and the ball explodes of the clubface and soars straight down the middle of the range with the ball hitting the ground running, getting great roll on the landing. I am looking forward to taking it out on the course with some low spin golf balls and see what kind of carry and roll I will be able to accomplish. I would like to thank Rory for all his help and great communication regarding the setup and building a great driver/shaft combination, notably the BB Solution 130 which is an awesome shaft especially with the Renegade head. Even though it took awhile for me to become comfortable with this driver, I now love it and have began to just smoke the ball off the tee and watch it go straight down the middle of the range (will this happen on the course, I will find out soon enough). I hope this reply sheds some light on the Renegade clubhead and as you can tell from my review, I may be a little biased now that I have tried it and became familiar with the club.

Quick update. This is not an extensive review.

I took my 12º Renegade to the range today. It's shafted with a Proforce V2 67g R-flex. I added 4g tip weight.

I did not hit a whole lot of balls with it, but my initial impression is that this will prove to be a very stable combo. Hard to tell what the distance was, but it seemed long, and the balls were rocketing out towards the end of the range. My first three drives were all very nice power fades - the kind I love to hit. The club felt very solid, and the hits were all in the same place on the face. I closed my stance a bit, and the next three shots straightened right out. Ballflight was remarkably low for a 12º head; then again, I tend to hit my drivers pretty low, and the range balls launch about half as high as my normal gamers. But I think this head really does play about 2º lower dynamic loft, especially with a lower-launching shaft like the V2. The ballflight was very similar to what I remember this shaft and my Mizuno MX-500 10.5º having, maybe a little higher. The MX-500 is now shafted with a BB Solutions shaft (which I hit today as well), and it definitely launches higher than the Renegade/V2 combo.

Understand that I only give a driver one chance to make it past the range and into my bag for further testing. I either like it at the range, or it's history. This club is going in my bag. I'll play a few rounds with it and report back.

Just a quick note to anyone playing a renegade. Dont use it in a tourny as it was deemed non-conforming.

What aspect caused it to fail? Too high of a COR? Too high of a MOI?

Anybody have an e-mail address for the USGA? I'd like to tell them they're idiots.

Wow, personally, I find the Renegade more plain in shape than some of the newer geometry heads released by the major OEM's. The Sumo square should be removed from the USGA list for not being plain in sound.

From what I have read, it looks like Tour Swing will have to wait for a big money OEM to release something similar before the USGA will approve it. Its nice to see that the USGA operates the same way as the US government.
