Geek DCT & SK Fiber Pure Energy

I picked up this combo after finding it on EBay and then being reminded of it by Dave's post about the deal. After some thought I decided to go ahead and went for the 10.5 head and the SK Fiber Pure Energy Red shaft. The seller was really good and kept me informed of the progress of it once shipped and I'd recommend him to anyone. Link below.

Geek Golf " DOT COM THIS " 450cc Driver Custom Built - eBay (item 130206691792 end time Mar-26-08 15:34:27 PDT)

This is more of an "initial thoughts" post than a review but I will add more once I've had some more time with my new found friend.

First up it looks great, I mean really great. Sets up beautifully behind the ball and the head is awesome. I had it fitted to my TLT chart although it's close to standard anyway.

I hit 50-60 balls on the range and it produced a good ball flight - not too low but no ballooning and very penetrating. The shaft feels very stable and the dead centre hits feel really, really good. It's long too. A very serious club for not that a serious amount of money. If you are looking for a new driver I'd certainly give this a try, it's every bit as good as any OEM driver I've hit but much less of a hit on the pocket.

It certainly looks the part. I'd be tempted to pull the trigger on a 10.5 but I'm loving my Cobra at the moment. We played our 1st singles comp of the season today (in the wind & snow) and I only missed 3 fairways with her. Hit some massive carry's into the wind and especially down wind.

Mike at the 2puttgolf is a credited club builder.
I had 2 drivers and 2 3-woods built by him and each had been shipped promptly, first class workmanship; competitive pricing.
I would recommend his service to anyone that want to explore into component golf equipment. He has a good web site which you could check it out.
Mike is also very responsive on answering your questions.

another plus for mike...

I ordered a SK Fiber TourTrac 80 to be delivered to my hotel in US but he didn't have any instead so upgraded my to a 100 for no extra charge and the shaft was waiting for me in the hotel when I checked in...would certainly buy stuff from him again
