Like every other set of irons I have had with little offset I hook the snake-eyes. That was the only real problem I had with them. For some strange reason I dont hook the irons with a lot of offset.
Honestly, the 905s are big old heavily offset shovels. The soles are wide and the cavities could house a Honda accord they are so deep. They are remarkably easy to hit. Very similar to a Callaway X20 in design. Like I said in another thread I am done practicing hitting balls. I will still chip and putt a lot, but otherwise its all playing. These clubs make that easy enough and will help on the off days. I just want to have fun out there, and these are perfect for that.

I played a quick nine holes today and these irons are the easiest irons to hit I've ever owned!! The Sumo2 kept me in every fairway. The KE4 3-wood was going long and straight. And those sweet, sweet irons were precision tools in my hands today. No shanks (fat or thin) and right at (or ON) the pin! Missed one green slightly left. Distance is dead on and I'm getting the feel for chipping with the PW now. I never had to pull the hybrids out of the bag. If the greens wouldn't have been so slow I would have had a few birds. I did get one and a few pars and (due to putts coming up short) shot a 41 that could've been much, much better. Best score I've ever had on the backnine of this course (Petrifying Springs in Kenosha) though.

Putting tip: when the greens are slow, hit it harder...

Seriously though it sounds like the bag is in great shape and you had a good time. It's finally getting nice here and everything is greening up. Hopefully I will get out a few times this next week to the driving range/executive course for a couple days of range time, short game practice and a few rounds on the executive course. I should have my new irons assembled by then and hopefully will get to hit them a bunch too.

DOH!!! But some of these were downhill where they usually go sailing past if you overdue it.

Just an update. Last two times out not one shank with my irons. Every one dead on course for the pin. Only missed greens were when I misjudged the distance. Now if I could get my impossible to hit anything not straight driver to hit straight. Have some dumb issues with my driver swing right now. I think I know what to try tomorrow...

Nope, got it fixed with good results. But the G10 will be in the bag probably over next winter. It is just getting too good reviews to ignore...

Agreed. All I hear is good things about the G10. But I am done ho'ing drivers for now, the FT-i will be tough to knock out of the bag.

That's awesome WBL.

I'm feeling the same way about my MacGregors. I find that they are a bit less forgiving of bad swings than my Tommy Armours, but on the flip side they are more forgiving on slightly bad swings. Don't know if that makes any sense. The MT's will slice with a poor swing, while the TA's were hard to cut. But the MT's are straighter overall, and seem to have better distance control.

I really think the Nippon 950GH shafts contribute a lot to the equation.

It makes sense (bad swing and poor swing) since I too have the same results with these. And I'll never play irons without those shafts again!

I got blitzed in my match play last weekend. And I shot 45 in league tonight. I'm looking for something sharp to stick in my eye now...
