From the sounds of it, I probably won't even waste the time trying them unless I find one on the course.

No reason for me to change, especially since the Distance balls are going to be, what, $2.00 a dozen before long?

The only other balls I've got in my sights are the Burner (although I hated the Tour Fire so much I may not even try it) and the Wilson TX4.

Hmm, maybe I won't even consider the Gamers or Freaks, just stick with the Distance and Feels. They were good balls.

Haven't confirmed this or know if it is everywhere in the US, but a friend we played with this weekend bought second hand Pro V1's at Dick's for $30 for 3 dozen last week. They looked about brand new.

I've played the Gamer and D2 Feel side by side as well.

Gamer spins a little more.
D2 feels softer, especially nice putting
Distance about the same.
Gamer chews up with one decent wedge swing.

Using the D2 for now.

The Freak sucks too. Well, I guess it doesn't suck, but I don't like it as much as several others. I won't buy a second box.

I like them, not real good around the greens but they seem to have decent flight path & are certainly long enough. Combine that with a dirt cheap price & it's a winner.

I don't understand how you guys can chew this ball up...

I've played 18 holes with the same ball and it's like new.

In any case I never said it was a ProV1...

My Bridgestone E5 was chewed up by the end of my round yesterday, felt like a rock though. Absolutely hated it.

I finally played a full round Thurs. morning with the Gamers. I really like that ball, but I actually did chew 2 of them up as well. I have never chewed up golf balls before except for the high end urethane cover balls.

Maybe it was the new Acer irons, although the grooves aren't any more agressive than the Golfsmith P2 grooves. Maybe I was striking the ball more crisply (I was but I really don't think that was it). I didn't hit a single cart path or tree so I know that wan't it...

Seems to me the cover is not so much really soft but kind of shreds on the surface. I didn't put any deep marks on the ball but simply took some of the surface off it. The cover also seems thick enough that it doesn't discolor like a Pro V1 or TM TP when you shred it a bit.

I haven't made up my mind about the Gamers yet. It appears I will go through a couple of them per round which I didn't necessarily do with the D2 Feels. On the other hand they do spin well for me and are a little longer than the D2s. The D2's are a bit cheaper but the Gamers aren't exactly expensive. I dunno. I'll have to think about after I use up the dozen Gamers (minus 2 ) that I still have.
