OMG what a blast from the past! I played Paganica in the mid 70's. Glad to hear it's still around.

Kind of a pain in the butt to find, it's surrounded by housing developments & industrial parks now days.

I can get 20+ extra yards out of this CT250 - the problem is I may hit one out of three fairways. I guess I'm convinced I'll eventually be able to tame this CT250 and have the best of both worlds. If I had any sense I'd just keeping hitting the 3DX dead straight, but I want more...

I'm hoping I'll come to my senses after a couple more rounds and get back to the Square, because I know it works every time I swing it.

For the record I put the 3DX Square back in the bag for a quick 9 with the wife - I typically play horribly when I'm with her, so I wanted the stick that I knew could do the job. The driver takes the tee on holes 1, 2, 5, 6, and 9. I was in the fairway on holes 1, 2, 5, 6, and 9. That's right, every time the club hit a ball, it put it in the fairway. It was a bit short and left on the first hole (first time I had swung it in a few weeks,) but it was on the screws on every other hole. My 12° CT250 has been longer on every one of these holes in the past few weeks, but only once per 9 holes, not all in the same day. Plus it normally only hits one or two of the fairways at best. Screw that - the 3DX hits every fairway and has pretty good distance every time, that's way better than one bomb in a round and a couple of fairways if I'm lucky. The 3DX is comfortably back in the bag. I hit 6 of 9 greens in regulation Saturday, and the 3 I missed weren't because of the driver.

I'm back to the status of Nickent fanboy - driver, FW, hybrids, and irons. And they all work like crazy.

I've used my 3DX Square for 36 holes now, and I think I have it figured out. I have to tee the ball considerably lower than I did with my Cleveland driver Slingblade gave me, but when I tee it right, it generally finds the fairway. I love it. I love the sound too =P.

My buddy bought the 3dx rc irons/hybrids that were on sale for 400 from the local Puetz store and he absolutely loves them. I haven't hit his irons, but I have hit his hybrids and as long as I don't swing like a retard, they're B-E-A-UTIFUL!

Did anyone go from a Taylor Made R5 or R7 to the 3DX square? I bought a pre-owned R5 Dual in the N configuration and just couldn't hit it consistently. Part of that was due to the stiff shaft (I found out I should be using regular flex). But I've been reading that the 3DX hits straighter more consistently than almost anything out there. I'm considering picking one up in 12 degree with regular shaft.

Also how does the regular version compare to the tour version?

The face of the regular version is way closed - I can't remember how much but I think it's something around 3° (which is a LOT.) The Tour version has a square face. If you have a slice, the regular version will help you out a lot - if you're a straight shooter, it'll have you exploring the woods on the left in no time.

Thanks for the input. My buddy actually has one and he said that his regular version did turn his slice into a small fade. I'm very inconsistent with my driver anyways but the Taylor Made R5 I just dumped had me slicing it quite a bit so I may need the regular verison.

Are the face and paint scheme the only differences in the 2 models? I'm looking for the 12 degree model as I read this driver has a lower trajectory compared to other models and I already had too low of a trajectory with that R5 dual in 10.5.

As far as I know the face angle and color are the only differences between the two, coming from the nickent rep that posts on golfwrx a lot. I wish I had the 12° model because I think I'm losing out on distance with the 10.5° - I have a different 12° and the distance is there, but it's not straight like the 3DX Square is. I really should sell it and buy a 12° Square, but my wife already chewed my ass for buying too much stuff lately and I know I'd probably never get around to selling the other club, much like the dozen other unused clubs standing in my garage.

Whatcha got? I'm looking for a 25 degree hybrid and new putter Might be inclined to buy your 10.5* 3dx square if the price is right too. I'm not worried too much about distance, I can hit a 19* hybrid 220 carry on a good day and I'd be happy with 250 on a driver as long as it's straight.

Wish I could help you there, but the 3DX Square is my go-to club. I keep trying to play the CT250 and have reasonable success, but I have to keep the square around for the days I know I need all the help I can get. As such the price wouldn't be right - I know I'd have to just buy another one anyway, so I'd be screwing myself if I sold it unless some loony that didn't understand the internet insisted on giving me more than the current cost of a new one.

The only hybrids I have are also Nickent, and those suckers aren't going ANYWHERE. Dreamy is too subtle of a word to describe those things. Plus I only have a 15° and 18° anyway.

Just order the 12° square - you won't regret it.

Something about this club is weird, you can certainly hit the ball a lot straighter than with something such as my FT-3 tour, but the distance is down on it. Clock a nice drive & it looks & sounds real damn good, but when measured out it might only be 220-230 whereas the FT-3 easily gets 10-15 yds more & thats not even with a real solid shot.

Was able to find the 3dx square at a local PGA superstore in 12* regular shaft so I picked it up. Took it to golf galaxy to get it cut down to 34 or 35" and they reccomended that I don't. I'm very inconsistent with it so far.

I found my square Sumo2 also was shorter then normal but usually in the fairway. Seems to be the norm on square drivers from other reviews. Maybe the FTi is different but can't say. Now I've found a normal shaped driver that is just as straight but far longer.

I hope you meant 44 or 45" as 34 to 35" is putter size.

Used the Nickent quite a bit today as I finally got a handle on what I was doing wrong a few weeks back. Damn thing is still shorter than the FT-3 but I hit 11 of 14 fairways today & this is no bs they were literally right down the middle. Going to hook up with a local area pro & see if he can help me modify my swing to get another 20-30 yds out of thid thing.
