Tour Burner

A little background of my game: I play to a 13. Swing speed was most recently clocked at 93. Hit a very high draw ball that fits my eye. Wants the most carry out of a driver. OK Driver game. Solid Iron game. Solid Short game. Old driver was r7 9.5 with Stiff Vista Pro, averaged 220 carry+10-30 roll with it. Distance was never an issue, it was the forgiveness that I needed.

Went with the 10.5* head with the stock stiff shaft, looking for more carry for the lush fairways I play on. Coming from the original r7, I started out hitting fades, you need to practice with it to turn it over properly. But when I figured it out, it's a sweet driver.

When it comes down to it. It is an ultra forgiving driver, irregardless of looks. The trajectory that it puts out is like no other. T starts high, and then just planes out until it reaches the apex, and hits the ground at a shallow angle. On center hits, you can see the extra ballspeed in its flight, it produces a very high straight 5 to 10 yard draw that carries 235-240, and rolls a little, depending on the firmness of the fairway, usually 250-255 total distance. I am also able to hit a low draw for shots into the wind, and due to the low spin nature of the head, wind doesn't affect distance that much. I am also able to hit cut shots, which carry the same distance, but roll out less
. On mishits, I have found that the ball loses little distance, especially on toe hits. Today I hit a shot near the toe on a 418 par 4, it started straight, and drew a little, this was enough hook just to put it in the rough, 156 yards from the hole. Heel hits started out left and cut a little, stays in the fairway, and loses about 15 yards over a center hit.

Conclusion: If you are looking for a straight driver with directional forgiveness. Or are just looking for a few extra yards. The head works both ways. On wet fairways, it carries farther than the average driver, and like any other driver will have minimal roll. And on dry fairways, it will carry far and hit the ground rolling. You cant lose with this Driver.

I hit one at the range and was killing it. they are very nice and I know several people have their eye on it. I'm waiting for a good deal to snag one up.

Good review. LyleG says to use a regular flex at your (my) swingspeed. Have you tried this in reg flex? Is it too whippy?

Before my original r7, I came from the r7460TP with a regular shaft, it was good for a while, but I couldn't really go after it without balooning it or producing a giant hook. The TB stock shaft is on the soft side of being stiff, so id imagine that the regular would give me the same problem I had with the 460TP

Dude you're a beast!!

Ever think of yourself like that before?

Or do you think they were talking about the Tour Burner?

Nice stick, bro. I hit one a few times and it really is hot off the face. Was hitting it 10+ yards farther than anything else at the shop.

WBL- The shaft is a Re-Ax, methinks. Should not be too whippy.

My problem with this club. They want $400 for the "NON" TP version. They're nuts. I can get a G10 Ping for $300 and that's getting nothing but great reviews. If this was $300 also I'd definitely look at it.

King Par is an unknown quantity at this point
Looks like a repainted Sumo to me. Except a little longer front to back, and pointed rear of the head.

Don't they have a shop in Milwaukee that sells a lot of used clubs. I know you're the King, but surely there are other WBL wannabes out there who will try this club and not like it.

Oh heck, just get the G10.

I saw some of these used in the shop today and because the bottom has a polished black finish they were all scrathed to hell. kind of similiar to the HiBore Xls.

Just picked this club up this weekend... LOVE it... hit it longer and straighter than my Titty 907D2.

Couldn't agree more! I was debating between the two and will most likely end up with the G10 simply since I can look into shaft upgrades and then be at the stock Burner price.. obviously shaft depending.
