LOL, no thanks. I did change the grip as soon as I got home though. I cant stand those awfully colored TM putter grips. I also cut it down to 32.5, bent it 2* flat and dropped two 14g weights into it to replace the 4g weights that were in it stock. I really like the way this thing rolls the ball. Cant wait to get on the greens. However it is raining here again. Over 10 inches now in June. Makes me ill.

Nice pick up.

It's raining here as well. Tons of thunder and lightening, and I'll be damned if it isn't all heading your way.

Wanted to play after work but a hell of a torm rolled thru, major winds & rain.

Oh yea, hope that putter works for you. I have tried them out at Nevada Bobs but quite honestly I don't want a putter that's as big as an FT-I.

I just picked up the Daytona model. Don't know if it's the insert or what but I am putting much better, heck it's almost cheating! lol My putts per green are are about 2.1 or 2.2 since I bagged it.

Instead of starting a new thread I will add my review to WBLer's.

I got the course about an hour early this morning so I could putt around and get a feel for the Spider on real greens. The few 15 minutes or so took a bit of adjustment. The putter looks, feels and rolls the ball far differently than Odyssey Black series 1 putter.

I had to start with a minor set up adjustment. This was moving a tad closer to the ball as I always seem to have to with mallet style putters. The other big difference was distance control. The Spider rolls the ball about 5 feet further with the same stroke as the Black. This is a good thing as I seem to be short a lot with the Odyssey.

So after about 20 minutes or so I had this beast grooving, and I mean grooving. This is without a doubt the easiest putter I have owned to line up to my target. It just sits so nicely behind the ball and just to always be in the right direction if that makes any sense. The roll it puts on the ball is otherworldly. I thought the black put a nice roll on the ball but this thing is even better. The ball seems to start immediately, no hopping, no skidding, just nice smooth roll. This is most likely the reason for it being about 5 feet longer than the odyssey. Si I finished up on the practice green and proceded to the first tee.

First hole - 4 footer down hill for bird - made it
second hole - 25 footer for bird - made it
third hole - 7 footer for par - made it
Forth hole - 40 footer for bird - had a six inch tap in for par
fifth hole - 8 footer for par - made it
sixth hole - 30 footer for bird - made it
seventh hole - 20 footer for bird - burnt edge and left a tap in
eight hole - 25 footer for bird - hit the hole but spun out - made 2 footer for par
ninth hole - 18 footer for bird - made it

12 putts on the front and a 4 under 32 for good measure. I know this was probably a bit of honeymoon and luck mixed together but I dont give a shit. I have never putted like this before and am thrilled either way.

Horn went as we were waiting to hit tee shots on 10. Big storm system here, done for the day.

I putted the best I have ever putted in my life last week. This is the real deal. And although I didn't putt quite as well as Lyle*, I am in absolute AWE of this thing...

So how many people have putted with this putter. I have only putted with it in the golf shop and not taken it out on the course. I think it feels really good in the golf shop but i wonder how it will feel on the course.

Just for you Spider Ho's, apparently TM made a smaller version of the Spider for Justin Rose. He calls it the Itsy Bitsy Spider.

from Golfworld.com
Spotted
After using Scotty Cameron by Titleist and Guerin Rife putters for most of the year, Justin Rose debuted a prototype TaylorMade putter—the "Itsy Bitsy Spider" as Rose calls it—at the Travelers Championship. The putter, as its name implies, is a smaller version of the company's large-headed Spider mallet.
