Lamkin Michelin OCS Grips

Tried these grips out today, first time I have used a non cord grip in a while. They are much softer than I thought they would be, at first I thought they were loose, but it was the grooves cut into the grip. My buddy said that it felt like a tire.

I liked the feel of them and was impressed with the stability they provided. That and the Michelin Man on them is kind of funny, had a laugh with my Bridgestone rep when I asked him if that was some sort of violation of the staff agreement to put Michelin grips on Bridgestone clubs.

So going from cord to those do you think they'd hold up in the humidity?

I've looked at them a few times and almost got some they are pretty cheap at retail also. I think they're $3.50 at golf smith.

I was very impressed with the Lamkin / Michelin OCS grip. While I have yet to put one in play, it has an amazing amount of grip for a non-corded rubber grip. The next time I have to regrip, these are going on the clubs.

When I get my Acer XP-905 Pro's, I'll probably get these grips on 'em. But I'll certainly call to order so it's clear that I want the Michelin Man side up.

You probably do not want to do that. The OCS has several different "zones" designed specifically for your hand placement and to maximize tackiness for the direction of force for each hand. Putting them on upside down would take away any advantage that this grip has over a standard rubber grip. Its not a TV or Crossline with a consistant/common pattern all the way around the grip.

do let us know how it holds up w/ humidity/rain.

i've been using corded grips for a while, and best one thus far for dry/wet weather is golf pride durometer corded grips.

They are actually the same on both sides, so it is possible to put them on with the Michelin Man facing up.

Really? I must have been looking at a prototype at the show, then. There was a definite top and bottom side to the one I had in my hands. They have must have modified them prior to market release.

That could be, or maybe they were the ribbed version, which obviously is a little different than the round version.

I thought the front and back looked the same on the Lamkin website. The only difference I could see that I think would feel different would be the Michelin name on the butt of the back of the grip. Maybe if somebody has these, they could try holding them upside down and see if it actually feels any different.
