I tried to find one in between my 3w and 5w. I tried the Ping G5 16* and 19*, Cobra 18*, TM Dual 16*, TM Mid 16*, Halo 19*, Heavenwood 2, Sonartec 19*, Hogan 19*. All with different shafts. I believe that is all. I only hit the Ping and the Sonartec as far as my 5w. I have been unable to locate a Halo, Cobra, Hogan, Callaway or Sonartec in a lower loft than what I mentioned that I could demo on either a monitor or range, although based on my distances when I demoed I would tend to believe that the Sonartec 17* or 15* would be the only club I could consistently hit further than my 5w, which is a 17* Ping G2. Because my 5w is fairly reliable, I will not change unless I demo first. If you should find any clubs that you demo that do in fact travel as far as, or even close to a 15* or less 3w, please post the club and shaft, as I would probably like to try it out. If you find any I mentioned are that long, I would be willing to re-try them. I also heard the Bridgestone is nice, but have been unable to find any.

Good luck!!

i bought a TM mid rescue 3h 18* that has replaced my 5 wood.true temper reg flex shaft.

had to replace the 5 wood that had a stock graph. shaft with the stiffness of cooked spagetti.

im gonna try and demo a TM mid res.2h to replace my 3 wood or get another 3wood.

Hrm... I was expecting a review of a 3-wood versus a hybrid, since this was in the Equipment Reviews section...

I asked basically the same question of buying a 7-wood versus a hybrid, and the vote I got was to go for the hybrid.

I ended up purchasing the TM Rescue Dual 4 (22*) and it's an awesome club... you'd probably be looking at the TM RD 1 (16*).

I was thinking the same thing to replace my 3W with a hybrid. I am in favor of having a gap wedge (51 deg) so I replaced my 5W with a graphite shaft 19* hybrid and got rid of my 3 iron. I am not very good hitting my woods of the deck and found hitting my hybrid much easier. I hit my hybrid as long as my 5W and just choke up and/or take a smooth swing went I want my 3 iron shot. I figure I hit my 4 iron 200-205 yards and am not that accurate beyond that anyways so I don't miss having a 3 iron. Now if I can just replace my 3W for a hybrid that I can hit just as far, that would be ideal. I am thinking a 16* and get fitted for a shaft to get maxium distance. I would need about 235-240 out it!!!!

So I guess waht I am trying to say is, if you can get the distance out of a hybrid to match your 3W.....DO IT!!
