Titleist 905R & 905S

I was at the range yesterday and decided for the hell of it to try out a 905R and 905S. I first tried out the 905S with the NV 65 Stiff but thought it was a little too whippy, not a bad club overall. Then tried out the 905R with the NV 65 stiff but again thought it was too whippy but had a better feeling than the 905S.

Finally tried out the 905R 9.5* with the Speeder in X stiffness, all of my shots were straight down the middle exactly where I was aiming but had a very high trajectory. I then opted for the 8.5* Speeder in X. All I can say is that I wish i would have tried this club before buying my SQ. It had the best feeling in a club I have ever experienced. Went home and did some searching on the net till I found one new at a golfsmith about 7 miles away. I decided to hit it on the launch monitor since I was going to buy it anyways and everything was about normal except my launch angle was 12* compared to my 14* before.

Welcome to team Titleist - I love my 905R! I've played a 983K for a while and there is something different about this club. It wasn't an instantaneous fix to my drive problems, but when struck well it is awesome.

Its been a while since I have had a Titleist driver, a 975D with an EI 70 to be exact, then a 975D with a Vista Pro 70.

I too had an older Titleist driver (975J) that I let go of about 1 1/2 years ago because I thought technology was passing me by. I had a Callaway BB 454 that I didn't like and sold cheap after I had a Wishon driver made for me over the summer. The Wishon is pretty good.

However, I just got myself a 905R 10.5 with a Y-6+ stiff as a Christmas present to myself and all I can say is I am so glad that I am back in the Titleist camp. This is one very, very good driver.

I have been hitting great shots with this club: long, high, and straight. I don't like to try to work the ball off the tee and this driver works perfectly for my swing. Tee shots are going where they are aimed with only a very slight draw or fade. I haven't hit any real banana slices or quail hooks yet but, I haven't really tried to work the ball either. I highy recommend this head with the caveat that you get the shaft that fits your swing type.
