Nomad Tourvan WRX- Great customization company

I just joined this site, and thought I'd kick things off with a review! I recently had a Feel PB 56* wedge, customized from Nomad WRX Tourvan service. Before I got Porting, GTO grind, the grooves cut deeper, had it Thermobonded, and had it refinished, I rate it a firm 9/10. The one thing I didn't like is how the club would have trouble with long distance shots. Hence the 9/10 rating. SO, off to Nomad it went! After the customizing, I now rate it 11/10.(I know, I know, can't possibly be a 11/10) Not only does the club perform much better as far as accuracy, but the amount of backspin is freaking UNBELIEVABLE! I chipped from 60 yards out, and the ball hit the green, bounced once, then tore backwards, right towards the flag. It stopped about 6 inches away. I looked at my divot, and I am surprised to see that my divot isn't even a perfect backspin divot. If I would have caught the ball right, it would have probably backed off the green! It's like the backspin is built right in! I have now taken out my trusty Mizuno wedge, and replaced it with this one.

I hope my review of Nomad was informative..I sure praise those guys after doing business with them. I recommend them to anybody, who wants special customization done to their wedges. I would give their website, but I saw another user do that, and some one got mad...so, just search for them on goggle, or ask me, and I'll post it. Wouldn't want to anger people on my first post...I can post some pics if wanted.(The wedge looks amazing!)

Can you post a few pics? Of the WRX wedges I've seen that have gone for treatment, they're pretty special.

Thanks,

Sweet, thanks.

Adams tongue in cheek remark comes from your initial post being a "review". 99 times out of 100, it's some schlep hocking wares without moderator permissions. So don't take what he was getting at as anything personal, he's just questioning your motives. Most of the time, he's right!

I'd still like to see some pics.

Thanks,

R35

Hey, it's no big deal. I understand 100%. I am a member of a few different sites, and I know what you mean. Another forum I go to is spammed so much lately, I don't go there as often anymore. You guys are doing a great job of spotting. The pictures are uploading, as I type this. I should have them posted within the hour.(If nothing goes horribly wrong.)

I checked it out a few weeks ago. That "black fog" treatment looks pretty cool. I considered sending out that 54-09 I sold to KowCiller. Seems like you could rack up a few hundred bucks pretty quick on there. I'd love to see some pics as well. Some nice angled close-ups of that face too.

ROGER THAT! That is the finish I have on my wedge! Not only does it GREATLY reduce glare, but it quite scratch resistant as well! Send your wedge(s) out. You WON'T regret it!

Well, I'm only 2 posts away from 15, so I thought I would tell a little more about myself. I am 18, from Houston, Texas area. My handicap is about a 6. My golf bag consists of: Ben Hogan Edge CFT 3-E irons. Feel PB 56, nomad custom. Feel Satin Series 60 degree wedge, Krank Red Hot Chili Pepper driver and 3 wood, Pinemeadow 68 degree wedge. Odyssey White Hot 2 ball putter. My balls of choice: Titleist Pro V1X, or when I'm just playing around: Bennett golf Bandit balls. My average drive is 300 yards. Have hit 2 over 400, and 3 off the Grand Canyon. Besides golf, I also enjoy gun sports, such as hunting, clay shooting, and trap shooting. I also enjoy coin collecting, and have a large collection that I enjoy. I have been Bungie Jumping, and Skydiving, and on both occasions, had a blast! Currently I am in school at AMI, in Florida, and am enjoying the fine golf courses and weather, and building a great career! So what do ya'll do besides golf?

Please ignore date: My camera has been off for a month, so the date is wrong.

Nice.

I'm curious as to the durability of the finish. Report back after you have about 6 months under your belt, i'd like to know how it holds up. The Gunmetal from Cleveland wore off my 60* wedge in about 3 months, tops...
