Callaway Warbird Ball...Anyone playing it?

Found one on the course a few weeks ago in good shape with a Duke logo. Played it for a few rounds before dumping it in the lake yesterday.

I found it to have good distance and good feel. It had enough spin combined with my rac black's that I could stop it easily, also.

My driver ss is 95-100.

Anyone else using this ball and like it? What would you compare it to?

For $15/dozen retail, I'm seriously thinking about picking up a few boxes.

They are huge off the tee, add 5 yards to every iron, and 5 strokes to your game. They're tough to chip with, I find and feel on the greens is tough to master.

Try the new Top Flites. I hear more and more and more good things about these balls, and at $14 for a 15 pack, you can't lose.

Because of the feel around the green?

I guess that's one way we're different...I thought it had pretty good feel.

The other ball I played yesterday was a brand new Strata Balata 90...remember those? Found a dozen I had stashed away this fall. Only got 2 left, and one of those is already eaten up from the Y cutters.

When I first found them, I dropped a new one about 100 out and hit a hard approach with my 52º with the ball back in my stance. The ball 1 hopped, spun back about 5 feet and stopped dead. When I got to the green and picked it up the cover had 2 deep cuts in it from 1 shot!

I'm going to miss the Strata's when they're gone.

MC,

I've tried the new Srixon URZ's and they are fine golf balls. Lots of spin and length off the driver is comparable to the HX.Tour 56.

You should grab a sleeve of those and give them a try. Very comparable to the Strata in terms of feel and look.

I bought a 15-pack ($15.95) of the D-2 (control?) balls to try. I still will play my HX Tours when there's no water or woods to lose them in though.

i used to play these and i found what R35 says to be somewhat true. They do fly long off the tee but they are kinda hard feeling as you get closer to the green and on the green very hard feeling.Might be a personal feel but much prefer a softer ball on the green and went to the NXT Tour

I would have found the water sooner with that Duke logo though!!! LOL

I really like it, it's a long ball, and after a few holes I found it got a little easier around the green.

However, as Rock said, it's still kinda tough around green overall.
