My review of the Sumo2

One of the worst drivers I have ever hit, simply awful.Awful to look at,to swing,to feel, everything. The flight just goes upwards, the spin rate and launch are off the clock. Its truly a dogs arse.

You simply cannot ignore the size of the head, its so off putting.Maybe you will get used to this over time, maybe not,I certainly won't.The head size almost makes you snatch the club back as if your subconcious thinks its going to be heavy being that big.And if you manage to put a good swing on it the launch angle is like a jump jet,the ball just goes upwards,no penetration at all. This will be the shaft as well no doubt, but this MOI thing certainly must be some of it,I doubt I could keep that ball from out of the clouds even if I used a shaft made of MDF.

As for the sound, try and imagine some small animal being stood on,thats about as near as you will get.Or maybe a small animal giving birth to another slightly larger animal coming out sideways. The sound of this club is so shocking I suspect the head of Nike must be deaf.Use that on the range and you might get banned.Or you could always use it to frighten away dogs.

Shocking club.

Why isn't Tiger using it? Er,I have my own thoughts and if he does eventually it might not be the same as retail.

Dave, if you care to expand on your thoughts, I'll put that review on the front page.

It's interesting but much too short.

I'll add to this since I JUST hit it at the Milwaukee Golf show today. It's HUGE!! It looks like a vacuum cleaner but I swung it okay and it felt okay. ALL the SQ, Sumos and Sumo squares had UST ProForce V2 shafts in them. (Is that normal?). I was not on a monitor, just the hitting area behind the Nike booth so I have NO idea what it would have done but I will say now it is the loudest club ever created. I have the perfect description. If you took two 2" diameter, open-ended, hollow iron drain pipes (3 feet long) and RAPPED them together as HARD as you could you would have the sound. Very high-pitched, metallic and iratating sound. I wouldn't be seen with one of these but people were walking out of that show carrying these things by the dozens. Go figure.....

Didn't you spell "pseudonyms" wrong? Ah, never mind. What am I doing in this thread anyway.

Speaking of loud.... when I played last month in Florida there was a guy on the range hitting one. The sound was so loud and shocking that players on the putting green 100 yards away were turing around trying to figure out what it was...
