Hybrid Hater to Hybrid lover.

I never really liked the Hybrid style clubs in the past, until recently I was in Direct golf and they had me demo an Adams Idea Pro 1h with Aldila VS shaft. This club felt great in the nets and they lent it to me on a weeks demo. It was great!!! For the 1st time I acually found a Hybrid club I liked, it had a small amount of offset and looked more like an iron in shape than a fairway wood. I've tried Cally's Heavenwood, TM's rescue, Srixons Hybrid, Wilson DH6 and some others in the past, they where all ok but I was never really sold on any of them and stook with my 2,3 & 4 iron's instead. Anyway after the week demo I took it back to direct golf, told them it was good but I wouldn't pay £120 for a hybrid. But now I was sold on a hybrid the're an easyier goto club than my 2 iron, perfect for days when my drivers off.

I went shopping on Ebay and I have picked up a Hogan CFT ti 0h with NVS(waiting for it to arrive), Hogan CFT 2h with Apex 3 and a Hogan CFT 4h with Apex 3 shaft all for a combined £120. I have had the 2h & 4h for a couple of weeks now and really like them. They have a simlar look to the Adams Idea Pro the 2h is great from the tee and 220ish out and the 4h is great for 200-210 yards from the fairway. I'm hoping the oh with the NVS will be as good as the Adams Idea I demo'd that was good for 235-245 from the tee. It has 14 degrees of loft so should have a nice penatrating trajectory, I hope.

So if you've never really liked Hybrids get out there and demo a few again. If you find the right one they are a piece of cake to hit and will help your long game.

Only problem now is I have a dilema. It's either my 4 wood & 2 hybrids or all 3 hybrids? Although I could have all 4 of them if I drop my 4 iron but thats good for about 190 so bridges the gap from 5 iron to 4h perfectly?

I bought a couple, liked them ok, but just decided I didn't want them. I've always played long irons and am more comfortable with them. I voted for choice 3.

I'll still demo some, but I don't see one in my bag this season.

I have never felt comfortable with a hybrid, I am trying the new Taylor Made Rescue 07 TP, if it lasts longer than three months it will be the longest stay in the bag. As there was no answer that really fit me, I didn't choose one in the poll.

I need a 4th choice: I like the idea of hybrids, especially to replace my 3 iron, but I can't find one that likes me.

I haven't played a round with mine yet but hit them alot in the indoor "dome" and every one was a good shot. I know I wouldn't be able to say that about my 3-iron....

I'm not going to say I love them but I can do things I can't do with a long iron that are necessary to score. I don't think I'd be too comfortable out of a fairway bunker with a 3iron. I love hitting long irons, nothing feels better than flushing a 3i over 200yards with a 5yd. draw. It's the ability to make that shot on a consistant basis that has me going to a hybrid. I have a Rescue MidTP 19* and a Nickent 3dxDc ironwood 23* on the way.

Yep... my sig says it all. If Icould hit a long iron consistently, that's the way I'd go, but since it doesn't happen... I'm a hybrid guy.

Have spent more money looking for the/a magic hybrid than anything over the past few years. TM, Sonartec, Nike, Callaway, Cleveland, Cobra... not much that hasn't found its way into the bag and back out quickly. First, I still haven't found a hybrid that is not a hook machine. A couple of them (Bridgestone and Callaway) don't go left as much as the others. But, when you least expect it... And, I enjoy my long irons. So, I know, I'm an ol' stick-in-the-mud that simply can't get the hang of these new fangled hybrids. Yet, I've had my clock cleaned more than once by those who have added years onto their games by putting a hybrid or two into play. To each his own...
