Aye, hit them both. For some reason, every driver that came out this year feels retardedly unstable to me. The only exception was the TM Burner, and took me by suprise. Both good clubs, but i just feel like i have no control over them.

After hitting both, I would prefer the FT-5. The only TM driver I hit that did not draw like crazy was the SuperQuad TP and I am not about to shell out what they want for that.

I hit the FT-5, FT-i, Burner, Burner TP, Superquad, and Superquad TP back in Jan. The FT-5 is the real deal. A nice boring trajectory, and even with the draw biased weighting, I was only getting a nice controlable draw. The sound off both the FT-5 and FT-i has improved compared to the FT-3 and eariler ERC vairents of the composite club heads. Its more of a solid sound and not as muted as the earlier varities.

The best bargain TM has is the Burner. Unfortunately they chose to shaft it 46 inches long to increase the distance and try to take advantage of the more forgiving clubhead. I could not hit it at full length with any kind of consistancy so I choked up a bit. It could be a solid driver if you reshafted it, shortened it, and reweighted it. The TP varient did not draw as much, but the other issues from the standard edition remained. The Superquad is a nice driver, but I could not hit the standard edition straight. Once I stepped up to the SuperQuad TP, I had a driver in my hand that I could control and enjoyed hitting. A real solid feel and sound at impact, and a really nice club in your hands.

I would be quite happy with either the SuperQuad TP or the FT-5 in my bag, but the FT-5 can be had for $150 to $200 cheaper. If you can hit and control the standard Super Quad its more of an even match up price wise and would make the decision a little bit more difficult. Go give them both a shot and see how they work for you.
