Grafalloy Epic Shaft

Wow, just got this shaft in and was extremely impressed. I initially had it slated for the back up driver, but have moved it to the SuperQuad and put it in my first 3 wood, waiting for the .350 tip for my hybrid. I picked up 8 yards of carry over the Diamana Red Board in my driver with the same launch angle and about 300 RPM less spin. Also, the dispersion was far tighter than with the Red Board. Nice smooth feel and it played a bit stiffer than the Red Board, solid control, was able to shape the ball either direction with ease. The driver shaft weighed in at 68 grams, so I had to add some weight to get it up to the 73 gram range that the Diamana was at, the fairway came in at 84 grams which was perfect for my 3 wood. Did not anticipate this, but I really like this shaft.

I think it plays a little stiffer than most full graphite shafts, very solid though. What did I miss there with Ez?

He had just PM'd me with the idea of getting an Epic. I was just telling him of the review I had just read, how the guy said it crushed his Whiteboard handily.

I was extremely impressed, did not think that it would be what it turned out to be. I can't argue with 8 yards carry, lower spin, and tighter dispersion. Not to mention it retails for about half of the Red Board for the driver shaft and the fairway is even less.

I would seriously like to try one of these, but I can't justify 200 bucks for a "trial run".

If you get sick of yours, I'd like to demo it.

I'm getting one in for my Burner, but I may just keep the Red Board in it at the longer length so that I can just let it fly, I'll let you know how that goes.

I'd like to demo one first. Then, I'd have to convince myself that 8 yards longer carry and dead straight are a bad thing.
