ANYBODY DEMO'D THE CLEVELAND HiBORE XL?

Well I had a stinker today so responded the only way I know how... You guessed it to browse Ebay and Ho.

I saw an add for the HiBore XL he said he was selling them £50 cheaper than Direct golf and had a BIN of £175. I pointed out that Direct golf are selling them for £199.99. I told him that would make it £150, he offered me that deal so I ripped his hand off.

Then I thought, I don't even know anything about this club. Has anybody hit this thing? It is 9.5 degree & fitted with the Fuji Fit On RED? (how does that play) I'm wanting long and straight after the shower of sh*t I produced today. As soon as I have a cross wind to contend with i'm crap from the tee. I hope this is the answer.

cheers P.

When i hit it, i didnt find it straight, although my swing that day was terribly OTT, but it felt really solid off centre, and the few that i connected with were great.

Id have to try it and be able to see the ballflight though, this was just in a juiced simulator.

I did a demo of a 9.5* fitted with a stiff "red" shaft a couple of weeks back. The thing just kept going up and up and... I tend to have a high ball flight off the tee already and the 9.5* was too much loft for me. The thing was pretty damn straight but I was demo'ing a SUMO (not square) at the same time (9.5* - stock stiff) and the SUMO was straighter and had a lower ball flight with more carry and roll.

I borrowed the 10.5 stiff NVS Rapture from our Pro shop. It balloned a little but X winds forget it. I played again today and we posted our best score of the winter. We got 37 points better ball stableford for 15 holes. I used driver twice (borrowed FT3) & played to 4 with a double on the 2nd. Had 9 pars on the bounce, 12 in total. My playing partner didn't really show up although he did get on the card with a birdie for 4 points. The difference a day makes.
