I'm done ho'ing for 2007

I'm done ho'ing for 2007.

Unllike Rock, I am not re-opening for business in 6 months. I am done for 2007. Cold turkey. No more buying clubs and/or clubheads for my self until Jan 1, 2008 or later (now, of course, if anyone wants to send me anything for free, that will not violate the pact .)

I am taking control of this disease today.

Now, of course, consumables such as grips will need to be purchased as they wear out. Shafts and tools may be needed as well, but no full clubs or clubheads.

Very good. I am done with hoing anything into my bag for now, it's setup to go. I plan to transition in a new putter this year, most likely a TP Mills. I have plans to continue buying and selling as a little "business" though. Can't go wrong when I've continually been doubling my $$ in like 2 or 3 flips. I'll need the cash as my "old home" course is being torn up... no more $12 for 27 holes this year. I'll be dropping $25-$40 every time now, 3-4 times a week is gonna hurt.

I say you make it.

With the behind the scenes info, in that you have 5 full bags of stuff, you have a revolving door of a bag. See, I don't. So 6 months will come and then I will explode.

I have your back tho.

I gave you 6 months but in hindsight I should've said by Christmas. Here's my thinking:

You're a tinkering equipment junkie. You had a blast at the show and all those new toys will start getting discounted in the fall in order to make room for the '08 models. I think I read in another thread that you have something like 5 full sets; cold turkey ain't going to cut it nor is anything else short of an intervention. Also, I'm not a big fan of the shaft loop hole; it's the same addiction.

With that being said, I wish you luck!

I was originially debating on makeing it Jan 1, 2009, but I figured one step at a time. Besides, with the PGA Show coming up next January I know that I will end up buying something after that.

Besides, I am considering getting rid of the '89 MR2 and getting into a '07 Mustang as my "other" car. I will need some extra cash for that.

Forget the shaft loop hole, you have a freakin' car loophole!

Yup, 5 or so full sets. All but one set of irons are self made via components along with the majority of the woods/hybrids and putters. The only thing I have going in my favor is that I have just about everthing I could conceivably need. Blades, CB's, Extreme CB's, hybrid, faiway woods, forged wedges, cast wedges, offset putters, center shafted putters, and a matched set 1 iron through Utility Wedge.

I had to exlcude shafts only in that finding the correct shaft is a long process. I am not planning on replacing a driver shaft unless one gets damaged. In the older iron sets, shaft replacement will be necessary if I decide to go back to them. My original component set has TT steel Rocket stepless shaft (bubble shafts) in them that scream mid 90's and were never that comfortable playing with. The UST putter shaft is the only item that I truly covet at the moment and will have to wait until the F&F sale at GS this spring.

Oh, I lost my auction last night, so I am in full non-ho mode now. I am going to try and avoid eBay for a while to avoid the "deal too good to pass up" temptation.

Hey, cars are not included in this deal. They are just a way to get the golf bag to and from the course. Some cars just get the clubs there faster than others.

I know I have the disease. That is why I am trying quit. I was bad enough before ST (only had 3 sets of irons, one set of fairways, one set of wedges, 5 putters, and one set of hybrids), since joining ST it has gotten progressively worse.

I believe in you, until Jan 1st 2008. Then you'll be full of cheer and buy a 6th bag for yourself I wager. Best of luck, I'm here to support you, doing the same thing myself

I picked other. I would say 5 to 1 odds on how many times Rock will ho before you do.

Then again, that is pretty vauge and may not get you through the week
