just got back from the range.

Picked this thing up from the shop today, and my coach prematurely called practice for bad weather...the weather passed and i went to the driving range for a go.

Specs:
HiBore Tour Issue Head- 9.5* loft
.5*-1* Open face I believe, Rock may know the exact figure.
Shaft: Graphite Design YS-6+ in X flex, 45" overall
Lamkin Crossline Black grip

just holding this thing, you can tell its gonna be something special and it doesn't disappoint in the least. i was at a range that was using restricted flight golf balls so i can't give accurate distance measurements; but i wouldn't trust distances from regular range balls either...i'll have to let you know what i'm getting once i get on the course some.

anyway this thing does absolutely nothing but go dead straight, one after the other. the marshall watching me hit told me to stop making everyone else look so bad.

contact with this head seems much better, seems to have more pop, the ball explodes off the face. the sound seemed much better as well. i mishit a couple shots on purpose, one on the toe and one on the heel, both curved back to center with very minimal distance loss. i didn't really try to work the ball with this thing, but when it goes as straight as it was, why bother?

on a 0-10 scale with 10 being the best heres how i rank it
Appearance: 8.5 - I don't mind the look of the HB at address anymore but, its still the HB which isn't the prettiest of clubs, the open face makes this thing set up beautifully though....
Performance: 10 - I couldn't ask for anything more, ever.
Sound: 9
Forgiveness: 9
Workability: 7
Overall: 9.5- It performed too well to get anything less.

it would take something extremely special to dethrone this thing. i now have my version of WBL's rapture.

Cheers, and a special thanks to Rock's new FT3 Tour for making it possible for me to get this gem

-YG

(also ho'd a putter, more on this later)
pics once i can get my camera charged.

a good start, i'm gonna do a full WITB job, along with the new putter (one of the craziest designs you'll see, but my lord does it put the ball in the hole.)

the one for sale is a stock retail head....the one being talked about here is a tour issue head, which features a more nuetral center of gravity and a square-open face angle.

the closed face and draw bias in the retail head were giving me fits and i had a tendency to get ginormous hooks b/c the club was doing what it was intended to do, cure a slice, a slice that i don't have.....
