Well I never, Accushnet have....

....Allowed 'Today's golfer' to include the new Titleist & Cobra drivers in this years test issue!!! (or Todays golfer has just decided to include them without permision).

Maybe the boy's & girl's at Accushnet have decided to let mag's test there products as they try to boost there market share. It's a turn around for them & about time too.

They scored quite well btw. The Cobra Speed Pro & Speed LD got 3 & a half stars out of 5. The Titty 907 D1 got a solid 4 stars plus a good review. They say it has a high moi so will appeal to a wider range of players than previous Titty drivers and in there opinion is the best driver Titleist have produced for some time. They go on to describe it as awesome & say the only down side is the price tag.

I hit a 907D1 the other night at the shop and it felt GREAT! I didn't get a chance to hit it at the range so I don't know a lick about the distance but I was consistently getting it in the sweet spot.

I can tell you this, it doesn't sound like any other Titleist driver. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't sound bad; it just doesn't have the traditional Titleist sound. If anything, it sounds more like a Taylormade driver. I can handle the looks and this is certainly at the top of my ho list.

Is the rumor about Titty getting out of selling golf clubs still legit? Or is that a bunch of bull? I have a hard time believing that.

I spoke to my club pro & a Titleist rep who plays at our club. They both said that they havn't heard anything offically but they wouldn't be suprised if Titlesit golf clubs became a custom order only brand. They make more money on the balls and have a cult following anyway so the fact they wouldn't be on genral sale wouldn't really effect there sales to much & would make them an even more select brand.

I really could see this happening coupled with Cobra being aimed at the masses.

Titleist wedge, fairway, hybrid, putters, balls all appeared in past Golf Digest.

Also, the Titleist Hybrid was selected as the best players hybrid in last month's Golf magazine so I guess they have always been tested by the magazines....

Anyway, how about 907D2? Any reviews or comments about D2 model? Tks.
