Finally

Well, picked up the Bridgestone J33 yesterday from the shop and took it out to the links. My swing wasnt all there, but damn this is one solid setup (j33 15* with Purple Ice 75-X).

This shall get its fair shake and im fairly confident in it, but i aint sellin the proven v-steel yet. Gota keep a sure thing until we have another.

Once ive played it a bit more ill get a review up of both the shaft and head. BTW will have a Sonartec ss 2.5 with diamana and adams idea pro hybrid with vs proto both in classifieds here soon, just gota get some pics and stuff together and those will be out there for anyone interested soon here.

Geez how many 3 woods you go through now trying to find "the one"?
I'd be intrested in the idea pro if its 18*

We'll even see if this one is "the one". It feels great so far and swinging it it feels perfect flex wise and weight wise. The couple good shots i hit felt solid, its also 1/4" longer as well so can help me a little more distance off the tee with the 3w on a bad day and a couple more yards into a long par5

Ill probly be back to the v-steel in 2 weeks

I think that "the" 3-wood is the hardest club to find. It is the "go-to club" on the tee (the one who have in your hand when facing a long, narrow fairway), and the club that you must trust to go 240-yard straight at a target from the grass.

I've gone through a lot 3-woods to find my current Callaway X (actually a 4-wood, but the same idea).

I agree that the 3 wood is the hardest right club to find. I gave up.

The V-Steel I had was solid, the first 3W that I could consistently hit off the deck. I still don't know why I got rid of it, but I got lucky because the B-Stone took it to another level. The B-Stone is in the bag to stay!

Sandpiper, I trust that, in time, you will find the Bridgestone to be everybit as solid, if not more solid, than the V-Steel.

Arrow Callaway X Tour

I tried Bridgestone J33, Taylormade r7 TP and Steel, Titleist 906, Mizuno F-50, and Ping G5 before I finally settled with Callaway X Tour 13*. Recently tried the new Callaway Big Bertha and it was really long and forgiving but I still would keep my X Tour. Curious about the new Cobra X Speed though...

The square face and small head of X allows me to work the ball, the sound is the best I heard for most of the fairways I tried, stock shaft is not too bad ( Tour Platform 26.3) but I will be changing it to a slightly heavier one. The ball goes far... I play without a driver since I am waiting for 907D1 to be out in the market, but still have no problem reaching any par 4s in two. One drive off the tee with Callaway X and one wedge shot. Par 5 is not a problem either. I like the borethrough which I guess makes dispersions less sporadic. Head cover is also cool in Black and Silver X mark.

Just trying to choose what shaft would be a good fit with X Tour head in the 75-78 gram range. Any suggestions?

Give the purple ice a shot, really its a hidden gem in shafts, it feels so solid and true. I couldnt stand the fuji tour platform in the sonartec i got. Put the diamana into it.
